About the Role

We are currently seeking a permanent full time Media Ingest Operator to join our dedicated team. This position involves working a 24/7, 365 days a year rotating shift pattern that includes weekend and night shifts. 

As a Media Ingest Operator, you’ll thrive on solving problems and working in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have high attention to detail for monitoring, recording and editing across various internal and external sources.
 
Key Responsibilities

In the Media Ingest Operator position you will be responsible for the following:

  • Monitor and ingest all required content from various internal and external sources ensuring technical suitability for broadcast playout.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure daily required broadcast operations are carried out as required.
  • Monitor and record various incoming satellite and IP feed sources.
  • Edit International news bulletins in line with broadcast formats and operational guidelines.
  • Accurate entry of metadata, construct reports detailing equipment and broadcast anomalies.
  • Respond to client requests for browse and search requirements in a timely manner.
  • Share relevant on-shift communications and change requests with colleagues.
  • Respond to ad hoc unscheduled records and playout requirements, and general media requirements

About You

The ideal applicant will possess:

  • Relevant tertiary studies/training highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in a Broadcast, Production, Digital Cinema or related role
  • Proven experience with video and audio editing essential.
  • Knowledge of broadcast standards and specifications, such as frame rates, resolutions, and aspect ratios, is necessary to ensure media files meet industry requirements.
  • High degree of computer literacy and proven experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Good understanding of current and traditional broadcast standards and practices.
  • Good understanding of digital file-based video and audio asset formats and codecs.
  • High degree of initiative to make suggestions and offer proactive solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to change and be a team player.
  • Client focused and continually search for ways to increase client satisfaction.
