About the Role

We are currently seeking a full time Network Operations Centre and Engineering Manager to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will lead and develop a high-performing 24/7 operations and support team, ensuring reliable service delivery across broadcast, media, network, and managed service platforms. You will drive operational excellence, service availability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the Telstra Broadcast Services environment..

 

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Lead and optimise a high-performing 24/7 NOC/MCR and Support operation across broadcast, media, network and managed service environments.
  • Drive a world-class operational model aligned with modern broadcast technology platforms.
  • Build and lead a 2nd Line Engineering function supporting critical broadcast, network and software infrastructure.
  • Champion proactive monitoring, automation and service visibility to improve reliability and reduce incidents.
  • Own incident management, post-incident reviews, root cause analysis and customer communications.
  • Develop, coach and mentor team members to build technical capability and operational excellence.
  • Monitor and report on service KPIs and OKRs, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead change management processes and participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and technology lifecycle planning, including end-of-life equipment replacement.
  • Ensure effective ticket and service management with a focus on timely resolution and customer outcomes.
  • Build strong customer relationships through clear communication and exceptional service delivery.

About You

The ideal applicant will possess:

 

  • 5+ years' experience leading NOC, MCR, Broadcast Operations or Engineering teams within a media environment.
  • Proven success delivering major live events and managing critical broadcast and playout services.
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast workflows, including NOC, MCR, OTT, playout, media networks and service delivery.
  • Experience driving operational excellence through incident management, change control, service improvement and performance reporting.
  • A track record of building and developing high-performing technical teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage customers, senior leaders and operational teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience leading root cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Advanced organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service management tools.
  • Experience leading operational transformation initiatives and supporting global broadcast operations (highly desirable).
