About the Role

This hands-on specialist role is suited to an experienced ER/IR professional who can interpret industrial instruments and translate technical requirements into clear, practical solutions. 

 

You will review existing employment arrangements, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and help develop fit-for-purpose frameworks that support operational flexibility and compliance with legislation, awards and agreements. 

 

Key aspects will include: 

  • Review employment frameworks across a 24/7 operating environment, including modern award and enterprise agreement coverage. 
  • Identify compliance risks and improvement opportunities across employment terms, rostering, allowances, overtime, penalties and related practices. 
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Legal and Operations to recommend practical improvements and support implementation. 
  • Prepare clear advice, recommendations and decision papers for senior stakeholders. 
  • Develop and update employment policies that support fit-for-purpose frameworks, compliance and consistent workforce practices. 

 

*Please note this is a fixed term 12-month role.  

About You

You are a pragmatic, technically strong ER/IR professional with experience in complex, award-covered and/or enterprise agreement environments. You can interpret legislation and industrial instruments, turning them into clear advice for business leaders. 

 

You’ll bring: 

  • Experience in employee relations, industrial relations, employment law, HR compliance or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and enterprise agreements. 
  • Experience working in, or supporting, a 24/7 operational workforce environment. 
  • Ability to review employment frameworks, identify risks and recommend practical, business-focused solutions. 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical and written communication skills. 
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach across HR, Payroll, Legal and Operations teams.
